Of course we are already dreaming about some warm and exotic destinations but admit it, winter is also one of the most beautiful seasons of the year, especially when all nature is covered with snow and you can enjoy your vacation somewhere next to the fireplace with a cup of hot chocolate in your hands.

We have chosen some beautiful and cozy hotels with beautifully designed interior in one of our favourite styles - rustic style. Check it out and maybe you will get an idea where to travel next :)

1. El Lodge Ski & Spa | Nevada, Spain

On a clear day you can spot the sea from the highest peak. And with more than 100km of pistes to explore El Lodge in Sierra Nevada makes a compelling case for family skiing in Spain.
Originally constructed in Finland, the property was deconstructed and transported to Sierra Nevada to be rebuilt a few years ago and uses extremely high quality woods and furnishings which has created quite a superb, intimate and very special chalet hotel. It originally opened in 2013. It was made of wood, with a spectacular terrace and open-air swimming pool overlooking the pistes. Soon after however, early in 2014, a fire started and engulfed the building. While all staff and guests were safely evacuated, the hotel was completely destroyed. Reopened for 2015 ski season, El Lodge has been rebuilt in the same style as the original, in Finnish wood with interior decoration by Andrew Martin. It’s quirky, comfortable, rustic and modern at the same time, with antler chandeliers, cowhide rugs, an antique cable-car cabin in the stairwell and lamps made from Campari Soda bottles hanging over the bar.

2. Wiesergut Hotel | Saalbach Hinterglemm, Austria

This beautiful hotel is a good example of how to combine old and new. Architects worked very consciously with contrasting materials such as local wood, natural stone, granite, glass and exposed concrete. The timeless style puts nature at its centre. Numerous items of furniture and individual pieces were individually designed, which optimizes their functions with much attention to detail. The complex is full of beautifully mixed contrasts such as old-new, inside-outside, rustic-modern etc. We can easily imagine ourselves in that room next to the fireplace, enjoying and relaxing. What about you? :)

3. Pashmina Le Refuge | Val Thorens, Francija

In short, this hotel is the ultimate mountain refuge. Why? The hotel Pashmina has one of the best locations in Val Thorens, with guests having instant access to the entire Val Thorens domain and the rest of the Three Valleys beyond. It's contemporary on the one and rustic on the other hand, chic yet cosy, colourful and wood neutral at the same time. The hotel is the perfect mountain hideaway.

4. Art & Ski-in Hotel Hinterhag | Saalbach, Austria

Built from aged wood and glass, the design hotel Art & Ski-in Hotel Hinterhag is right next to the ski slopes above Saalbach. As the name already states it offers ski-to-door access for all of you winter sport enthusiasts. It's wooden exterior and interior is perfect for creating warm and cozy rustic feel. It is beautifully combined with some modern, chic features that makes even more special look. We can imagine ourselves right on that beautiful balcony with that amazing view to the ski slopes... What about you? :)

5. Mother Goose Hotel | Utrecht, Netherlands

Mother Goose resides in what Utrechters formerly knew to be the Ubica squatters headquarters. There was a large fire and for a period of 25 following years the buildings were neglected and left to squatters. In 2013 they decided to repurpose the monuments and the renovations began. In June of 2014 this beautiful and unique hotel right in the heart of Utrecht opened its doors. It's design can be described as tough, but with a feminine eye for detail. In almost every room you will experience different kinds of vibe because of their unique and different interiors.

6. Artist Residence | London, UK

The building was originally designed by Thomas Cubitt, who built a lot of the finest houses in Pimlico and nearby Belgravia and its ground floor was for many years a pub - the Clarendon. As soon as you step through the door you are surrounded by style: pared-down decor, shiny plain paintwork, all that art on the walls. Instead of a lobby, there’s a tiny desk and a warm welcome. There are no words to describe hotel's unique style, rustic shabby chic would probably be the nearest guess. Bedrooms are all genuinely different from one another and even the smallest have stylish touches and original art.

7. M de Megève Hotel | Megève, France

Yes, this is one of those where you can imagine yourself enjoying right in front of the traditional open fire right in the middle of the lobby. It is a contemporary and authentique top class chalet - hotel located in the centre of the village, just 100 m from the Chamois ski lifts. It's beautiful rustic interior gives you the feeling of a home away from home - like if it's only purpose was to create warmth and coziness.

8. Farmhouse Inn | California, USA

In California's picturesque Sonoma County, where hillsides are embroidered with grapevines and meadows are woven with apple trees, two siblings returned to the land their great-grandparents lived on and loved. They created Farmhouse Inn - a boutique resort with all the warmth and coziness one can imagine.
It's beautiful rustic interior is just one of the reasons why this place has landed on our list. Property looks like a transformed old barn with some of it's features - barn doors, high rustic ceilings, stable doors etc.

9. Soho Farmhouse | Chipping Norton, UK

Soho Farmhouse is definetly not an ordinary hotel you are used to. It's a members' club in 100 acres of Oxfordshire countryside with 40 individually-designed cabins assembled around the site’s original farm buildings, complemented by the addition of new buildings. Wooden, blackened or corrugated iron, they vary from studio-size to three bedrooms with interiors designed to perfection. If you'd prefer bricks and mortar, there's also a three-bedroom cottage and seven-bedroom farmhouse to stay in. What we like the most is that they used some of the old materials from previously demolished buildings. By the way... The region where Soho Farmhouse is located is home to supermodels, musicians and politicians. Oh, we wonder why...:)

10. Chalet Jagdgut Wachtelhof | Maria Alm am Steinernen Meer, Austria

This beautiful hotel near Salzburg, surrounded by a spectacular Austrian alpes scenery, next to powder-covered slopes, hiking trails and backcountry adventures attracts all lovers of sports, culture, leasure and nature. And rustic interior lovers of course. Hotel's interior is so warm and cozy, with beautiful decor and details, oak and pine wood, textiles like fur and cashmere. It looks like a beautiful lodge or chalet on steroides :) Anyways, it's the perfect spot to relax and enjoy.

11. Correntoso Lake & River Hotel | Villa La Angostura, Argentina

Deep in the rugged wilds of Patagonia, Correntoso Lake & River Hotel is a luxury boutique hotel with an unforgettable lakeside location. This is one of the main reasons why this hotel ended on our list. Hotel's interior is rustic inspired, cosy and warm, but let say it's not something that hasn't been seen yet. Although the views from the hotel are just amazing and leave you speechless.

12. Hotel Alpenhof | Zermatt, Switzerland

On the first look this hotel in a sunny, quiet location in the centre of Zermatt doesn't look like anything special. But renowned interior designers who designed the hotel's interior have been inspired by the archetypical Zermatt and have incorporated the cosy Valaisan style into a modern and elegant furnishing. You can notice some kind of symbiosis of different kind: where stone meets wood, nature meets technology, tradition meets modernity and rustic Valaisan style meets city chic.

13. Grossarler Hof Superior | Grossarl, Austria

This beautiful rustic hotel in chalet style is located in the scenic village of Großarl and it's surrounded by the pastures, forests and magical mountain scenery. The hotel is a successful synthesis of reclaimed timber, rustic look and chic mixture of old and modern design. It feels like you've come to a cosy ski chalet/cabin, just that the size of it is a little bit bigger. Oh, and luxurious of course :)

14. La Cordée des Alpes | Verbier, Switzerland

The four-storey building, with adjoining chalet-style roofs and lots of balconies, is clad in carved, weathered wood. The reception and lounge are a triumphant mix of rustic and contemporary with open fire, pale sofas, scarlet Chinese doors, bowls of satsumas and a chunky dresser with artfully placed Alpine knick-knacks.The attention to detail in the design of Cordée des Alpes Hotel makes quite an impact. The floors of the property are in beautiful aged wood while each room and suite has a timber balcony with wonderful views of the mountains. Oh, and we can't forget to mention a beautiful bathroom with colourful Moroccan tiles and vintage-style fittings.

15. The Lodge | Genarp, Sweden

On one of Skåne’s highest points The Lodge rises. It's location is unique, with a great view of the hills to the west and the beautiful landscape in the east. The Lodge is built in New England style and strives to be different and unique in every way. The first thing you will notice is The Main Lodge where you can find the reception, the restaurant, the cosy lounge & bar and a large outoor deck. The fireplace, cast iron stoves and the special New England atmosphere creates a relaxed and peaceful atmosphere. Rustic exterior is even more outstanding then cozy interior. And we don't even have to comment the beautiful surroundings, right?

This is just a small selection of some of the cosiest rustic hotels. Have you ever been in any of those? :)
